john oliver huh... never did much care for comedians who fall back on the weak art of sarcasm. no offense. I just think it's better to achieve comedy through humorous juxtapositions and obscure references. context is the key. Like how if I refer to the mini bake oven from Sealab 2021, or the sharks in lab coats from the same, you all get it.

@Lieutenant Fish have you heard of Ready Player One? :si: I heard it's a great example of that style, where the humour comes from mentioning other things that the reader is already familiar with.
Personally, I think the highest form of humour is when you say a thing that is outrageous or funn'y in a serious voice, as if you mean the thing that you're saying, but really you don't.

Thanks but I think humor always has to come from a place of honesty. The reader always needs to know that the joke-teller is telling lies only in order to highlight what the truth actually is... and the point where truth and lies collide is where you will always find the most wisdom. :ugeek:

i dont like jokes that are based on sarcasm either. i think the pinnacle of humor is military humor, as pioneered by beetle baileys

I think it'd be funny to edit that last one so it's either just the dog or a bunch of the same dogs or even a bunch of different dog sillohette's if you wanted to go the extra mile. Heck you could put a lot of wildly incongruous shilloheoet's like a big toothbrush and a stegosaurus and a cotton gin and an iron maiden etc just a bunch of random stuff like that, I think that'd be pretty funny and it'd ideally make people who "support the troops" angry at you, which I think is good to do :ugeek:
